Tasting Notes
Palmer & Co. NV Blanc De Blanc 6 Pack
In 1947, seven well-established and visionary winegrowers came together in a joint quest for ultimate perfection and founded Champagne Palmer & Co. The founders bought its current cellars from a failing Champagne House in Reims in 1959. Over the years, the cooperative has spread past Reims and now owns an impressive 450 hectares of vineyards, over 200 of which are classified Grand and Premier Crus. A large percentage of Palmer's vineyards are in the Montagne de Reims giving Palmer a unique source of chardonnay in these cooler aspect locations, Blanc de Blancs being one of the stars in the Palmer portfolio.
Palmer & Co. NV Blanc De Blanc is best described as the underdog example of Blanc de Blanc, With many great Blanc De Blancs originating from Chardonnay vineyards across the acclaimed Cotes Des Blanc Region, Palmer utilises a unique and vibrant combination of fruit sourced from villages within the Mont De Reims, Specifically 85% from Trepail and Villers-Marmery where they hold 80 hectares. In Addition a small and important percentage from Cote de Sezanne which is south of the Cote Des Blancs is also included, to ensure true defining character is oozing from its blend. It consistently rates as a premier "Non Cote des Blanc" Example and fantastic value for $.
Subtle notes of white flowers and citrus, combine with almonds to create an abundance of flavours on the palate. The silky and refreshing palate has a fresh acidity and great finesse on the finish.
