Tasting Notes
The house has notably gone through a remarkable lift in quality over the last decade. (45% Pinot Noir, 25% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay) At the turn of the twentieth century this was the number one selling Champagne in the world. The nose shows aromas of lemon citrus and grapefruit, with notes of white peach, apricot and fresh apple. Lingering notes of vanilla, dried fruit and honey follow through to a palate of fresh fruit, toast and caramel flavours. 77 wines go in to make up the final blend. Well-structured, elegant and long, Cordon Rouge sums up the spirit, know-how and dynamism of the Mumm champagne house.
