Tasting Notes
Jules Lassalle established this family-owned Champagne house in 1942 in the village of Chigny-Les-Roses on the Montagne de Reims. Cuvee Angeline is named after Angeline Lassalle (granddaughter) and is only made in exceptional years. The first vintage was created in 1973 by Jules Lassalle and launched in 1978, the same year as the birth of his granddaughter.
Champagne J. Lassalle works with all three varietals authorized in the region (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier) on sixteen hectares of vineyards, all of them premier cru. This particular vintage is 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay sourced eclusively from Chigny-Les-Roses.
Continuing to follow the vinification methods first established by Jules in the forties using the same wooden basket press installed in the winery over fifty years ago!
"This blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is a Champagne of luxury, from its decadent golden tinge to the fine, persistent bead that playfully caresses the palate. Uncorking this euphoric elixir will guarantee a ceremoniously delicious occasion" Anthony Lynch
