Tasting Notes
Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve NV Gift Box + Champagne Gallery Keyring
IT IS WITH BRUT RÉSERVE that the House has expresses the quintessence of its style. Particularly recognisable, this cuvée is the fruit of a unique blend that can be summarised with one equation: 60/40/10.
60 representing the total number of Crus in the blend, 40 representing proportions of reserve wine in the blend and 10 representing the average age of reserve wines within.
The first Champagne to clearly state the year it was laid down in the cellars-""Mis en Cave"". This allowed the consumer to work out the exact make up of the blend, plus there is always at least 40% Reserve wines used to maintain the house style. However doe to consumer confusion the 'Mis en Cave ' system has been replaced by the 'Brut Reserve' but the disgorgement date can still be found on the back neck of the bottle. The nose shows fresh citrus, pears with notes of fresh fruit bread from the oven. The palate is fresh but the reserve component giving a yeast-age complexity. Multi-layered with wonderful length. One of the best NV's on the market today.
As VOTED : Best Champagne NV Blend...Charles Heidsieck NV Brut Reserve 750ml, Champagne & Sparkling World Championships 2016 and continuing to show consistency and a house style of integrity and annual precision and intrigue into the 2020's.
