Tasting Notes
Charles Heidseick Vintage 2005, (60% Pinot Noir, 40 % Chardonnay) is by all accounts testiment to what was claimed as an exceptional vintage in champagne and Charles Heidsieck. Early signs of quality were assured when harvest started in climatically perfect picking conditions.
On both the nose & palette it is generous and full, toasted hazelnuts & brioche and on the palette dried apricots, dates and figs. Balanced acid and full, long and lingering finish.
This wine is the perfect choice to settle into a warm meal over winter or for transitioning thru Autumn from the crisp summer styles. It leaves you with lots to think about after every little sip..Pinot driven but with 40%chardonnay adding balance and elegance, Its Robust but not entirely masculine.
