A jury is certifying the quality each year during a blind tasting and and if the quality is not meeting the expectations, the champagne is not allowed being marketed as a Special Club. This ensures the membership of the "Club" is fluid and constantly evolving. Members come and go and is ultimately driven by quality and consistency.
the 2008 vintage consists of 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir. With 9-10 years aging on the lees and reasonable dosage of 9g/L. Delivering on the famed conditions of the 2008 vintage with length and poise. J.Lassalle is located in Chigny-Les-Roses and has championed Chardonnay in this Special Club blend, lovely core of fresh citrus characters, Grapefruit, Crunchy red apples and pear. Meanwhile persistence and body deepens with fresh beery notes, red cherries and strawberry accents. Development on lees over 10 years ensures its balance of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir compliment each other perfectly delivering soft layered textural complexity, some honey, light almond and brioche characters balanced with well defined minerality to its lengthy finish.
